My very first poem, I wrote this during a lunch break prior to my presentation on the book, Color Purple by Alice Walker.
Isn’t it good for a first attempt?
“Yes, I am a Woman, Although not regarded Human, I have been suppressed, And at times even been oppressed, But now my voice is BACK, And it wont ever be HACKED, It’s time to Give a WAKE UP CALL, Before due to YOUR ignorance, the WORLD falls, We are not just Birth giving machines, Like you ALL, we do have Feelings, Yes, we are not alike, I am Black and You are White, We, have faced enough of discrimination, Now it’s time for its’ eradication, So let’s use our voice as vaccines, And immune ourselves from this disease, To bring back the RIGHTS of the FEMININE.

LIFE is a JOURNEY, and the roads are bumpy, with hardly anyone to have mercy, thus we try hard to stay out of controversy, so we make sure there’s absence of leniency, and practice some decency, oversee ourselves, before we bid farewells, STARTLE OTHERS as It’s NOT a SPELL, and INSPIRE OTHERS AS WELL.
I am with you!
During the dark times, The shadow doesn’t leave us, It unites to strengthen us, During the bright sunshine, it’s by our side to examine, But it never leaves us. It’s His way of telling us; “I am with you, wherever you are”!
All I have is you!
You are the sun, & I am the moon, To each other, we are getting attuned. You are always on my mind, and your name is what I croon. What I feel is fresh and new, just like the earth during the monsoon. I have transformed into a winged butterfly, from a closed cocoon, Oh! what a wonderful fortune. Let’s together dance to all the tunes, because all YOU have is ME $ all I have is YOU.

I love your smile, Oh, with it, you beguile. I wish, with you to walk miles, and cross oceans , seas and Nile. I pray, there’s no tear in your eye, even for a while. I love the invisible knots with you, I tie. I wish no heavy cloud in your sky. Do not ever say, ‘Goodbye,’ Instead, tell me, I am yours, and You are Mine!
